Highlights of Australia & New Zealand
The Highlights of Australia & New Zealand Tour is a fabulous tour of the land down under. You can expect exactly what the name of the tour says – all the highlights of these two great countries perfectly packaged into one amazing holiday.
When you think of New Zealand, its incredible pooling lakes, geysers and sky-high snow-capped mountains spring to mind. And you’ll be glad to hear that you’ll see them all as part of your New Zealand highlights tour.
But that’s only half of the adventure. Australia’s highlights tour includes the raw and rugged outback; the remote city of Alice Springs; the cosmopolitan city of Sydney; the spectacular sights of Uluru; tropical Queensland and of course, the breath-taking Great Barrier Reef.

From our customers
I had a fabulous holiday arranged by Distant Journeys. The flights, hotels and excursions were all expertly arranged. As this was the first time that I had travelled alone I was naturally apprehensive. We were escorted from location to location by our onboard tour guide who provided knowledgeable information about the area. I would certainly recommend DJ to anyone looking to travel to Australia or New Zealand.

Customer reviews
4.9/5

Great holiday well organized, most of the hotels where 4/5 star, 2 of the hotels would not recommend. Rep in both location very helpful and knowledgeable, was never a problem to organize or sort anything out. Only complaint was group size, I was lead to believe, as was other travels in our group, it would be 20 to 25 people, our group was 39, far to big.

Highlights of Australia and New Zealand
Overall a great itinerary, quite tiring due to some early starts and there is a lot of travel, but there was some downtime to recuperate. The hotels were all of a good standard., the included excursions were all generally enjoyable and the optional ones offered were good value. I am aware that some people on the trip had a few issues but for us everything went smoothly from booking, to downloading the DJ app through to the holiday, so we are very satisfied.

Highlights of Australia and New Zealand
Epic well organised tour that was worth every penny. The accompanying guide in each country were both excellent, extremely well organised and did their best to see to everyone’s needs. They were always available if you needed them and had a wealth of knowledge with a desire to ensure we had all the information we needed to make for an enjoyable trip. It came through that they both obviously loved their countries and wanted us to love them too. It was very nice having the same guide to accompany us throughout our stay in each country which meant they got to know us and what we did and didn’t like and were always very accommodating. This was our very first group tour and the size of group which was 45 was larger than we had originally expected when we booked but the agenda allowed you to socialise as much or as little as you wanted with your fellow travellers and was rather nice seeing familiar faces around and about as you travelled and sharing some amusing banter as well. Saw so many places and really felt that we had a good taste of each country. The included day trips were excellent and the freedom day tours were also very good, well organised and also had great day guides. Would recommend this trip to anyone interested in seeing this part of the world.
