Step away from Bali’s famous beaches and uncover the island’s quieter, more authentic side on this journey into its rural heart. Designed to showcase the landscapes, traditions and daily life of central Bali, we explore mountains, farms, ancient villages and revered temples.

The day begins with an early departure from our hotel, and as we leave the urban bustle of Denpasar behind, the scenery soon opens out into lush green fields, gently rolling countryside and distant mountain peaks. The first stop is in the foothills of the Batukaru Mountains, where our knowledgeable guide introduces us to the unique farming practices that sustain life in this fertile region.

Here, the landscape is shaped by ordered rice paddy terraces carved into the hillsides, carefully maintained by the people of the remote village of Jatiluwih. This traditional village remains deeply connected to its land and heritage, and we have time to explore its surroundings while learning how the community lives off the rich volcanic soil. Thanks to these fertile conditions, a wide variety of crops thrive here, including flowers, vegetables, spices and tropical fruits, all grown using methods passed down through generations.

The tour also includes time to visit one of Bali’s most picturesque and spiritually significant temples, set amid the tranquil mountain landscape. After exploring the temple, we stop at a local restaurant on the return journey, where refreshments are available to purchase at your own expense.
