- Crossing the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge
- The Ruins of St. Paul and Statue of Kum Iam
- Ferry ride back to Hong Kong
The modern metropolis of Macau is known as the “Vegas of the East” thanks to its 24/7 lifestyle, but this ancient port has a cultural heritage that stretches back centuries. Crossing the 55 km-long Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge to start a full day of exploration, the city’s hisstory instantly surrounds you. Pause to appreciate the awe-inspiring Statue of Kum Iam, the Goddess of Mercy; step inside the Ruins of St. Paul, once the largest church in Macau; and walk along a cobbled pathway lined with stalls selling tempting snacks.
Re-energise with a buffet lunch and take a gentle wander through the ancient archways of atmospheric A-Ma Temple, thought to predate the city itself. As the afternoon turns to evening, return to the 21st century at one of Macau’s vibrant casinos, enjoying the high-energy ambience, before boarding a ferry back to Hong Kong.
