We start our day by heading into Bali’s countryside to explore the famous terraced rice paddies, where our local guide explains the traditional farming techniques used to create these beautiful landscapes. The tour then continues to the charming village of Gulingan, where you’ll be introduced to a variety of colourful plants and visit a traditional Indonesian pavilion, before heading on to the Mengwi Temple.

The Royal Temple of Mengwi, also known as Pura Taman Ayun, dates back to 1634 and is celebrated for its elegant architecture and serene setting. Wander through the temple complex to admire its tiered shrines, carved wooden gates, tranquil courtyards and surrounding moats, while our guide shares the history and significance of this important site. Next, we visit Bali’s sacred Monkey Forest, home to hundreds of playful long-tailed macaques.

The final stop is Tanah Lot, often referred to as the Sunset Temple. Perched atop a rocky outcrop, this iconic Hindu shrine dates back to the 16th century and is reached via a causeway extending out to sea. Take in the dramatic coastal views and admire the temple’s striking silhouette against the ocean backdrop, one of Bali’s most romantic and photographed scenes.
