The true Australasian experts
Proof that our tours to Australia are of the highest standard comes from the Directors’ combined experience of over 60 years in the travel industry. On top of this, they’re true Australasian experts who know everything there is to know about creating the best Australia tours from the UK.
All our Australia touring packages are fully-bonded by the Civil Aviation Authority (ATOL no. 10913), so you can be 100% certain that your money is secure when you book.
If more proof were needed about the quality of our Australian tours, Distant Journeys was delighted to win the British Travel Awards’ ‘Best Small Holiday Company to Australasia’ award in November 2016 and again in 2017. We know how good our tours are, and people who have already travelled with us know this too, but to have our tours to Australia officially recognised by such a prestigious organisation makes us very proud.
Don’t miss out on New Zealand
You’re already thinking of travelling to the other side of the world on an Australia tour holiday, so why not nip over to New Zealand while you’re there? The 28-day Highlights of Australia and New Zealand tour combines all the countries’ best bits – making the most of your trip down under. And if you want to make the ultimate trip down under you can combine our full Australia and New Zealand tours to create one of four itineraries of between 39 and 53-day durations.

Where would you like to fly from?
It’s up to you! On our 22-day Wonders of Australia tour or 29-day Very Best of Australia tour, you can choose to travel with the Qantas and Emirates partnership from any of the following airports; London Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle or Glasgow. Just pick which is most convenient.
Where would you like to stop over?
You can choose to break up your travel with a two night outbound stopover in Dubai or Singapore. Whichever sounds best to you, we include it in the price of your Australian tour package.
What is your ideal size group?
Most of our tours of Australia carry around 40 people – ideal for a sociable touring atmosphere. However, our Wonders of Australia tour does have a select number of small group departures, between 24 and 30 guests. Please have a look at our Departures tab on each tour for more information.
What would you like to do?
On an escorted tour, we think it’s important to still have the flexibility and freedom to spend time as you please and enjoy experiences that really interest you. And our Freedom Days allow you to do exactly that. So be it a behind-the-scenes tour of Sydney Opera House or dinner under the stars at Uluru, it’s all about what you want to do.
Would you like to stay a little longer?
Who wouldn’t? So why not extend your holiday to visit family and friends? Arranging flights for you to accommodate this is all part of the service.
Special offer – save up to £492 per couple
There aren’t many places on the planet further away than Australia. So to help break up your journey (and give you an opportunity to experience a fantastic Asian city) we’re pleased to include a two-night outbound stopover in either Dubai or Singapore on all our tours down under. Alternatively, if you are choosing the Very Best of Australia tours, you may choose to stay in Perth for two nights before your tour begins. And when we say included, that means your airport transfers, accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis and a comprehensive city tour (in Singapore or Dubai) is already taken care of.
In addition to this included outbound stopover, right now we’re offering a two-night inbound stopover for only £99 per person (£198 for single occupancy) on tours which depart after 1st September 2018. This amounts to a saving of up to £492 on the normal price you would pay. To take advantage of this early booking price, all you need to do is book by 30th June 2018.
The offer is subject to availability of flights and accommodation at the time of booking. Just click on the tour name for more information:
Your homebound stopover options with this early booking offer are four incredible Asian cities; Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok or Dubai.
If a three night relaxing break in Bali is your preference, you may choose this option at a special offer rate of £249 per person in a twin room or £498 in a room for single occupancy.
The offer includes return transfers and accommodation including full breakfast.
