You begin the day with a visit to the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, to meet your indigenous guide who will show you through the park, including bush food demonstrations, didgeridoo demonstrations, movie theatres, fire making demonstrations and the famous Tjapukai Dance Troupe. Next, you will experience World Heritage Rainforest with Skyrail Rainforest Cableway. Once aboard, be amazed as you glide silently over the rainforest. There are 2 stations en route where you can alight and enjoy a walk through the rainforest to spectacular lookouts, or visit the CSIRO Interpretive Centre.
Upon arrival in Kuranda, you will have a couple of hours’ free time to do your own exploring around this quaint village – perhaps visit the craft markets, Koala Gardens or the Butterfly Sanctuary (own expense)?
The journey back top Cairns is onboard the famous Kuranda Scenic Rail train for an amazing journey on one of the world’s most scenic rail routes. Your journey winds through hand-hewn tunnels, across bridges and around curves, all the time appreciating what an amazing engineering feat it is.
