Stepping aboard the mighty Indian Pacific, you’ll feel a great sense of anticipation as this unforgettable Australian adventure begins to unfold. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, this is a journey defined by contrast, encompassing the towering majesty of the Blue Mountains and the barren expanse of the outback.

Outside your window, the vast beauty of this magnificent country is revealed – the textures, the light, the unimaginable hues. And alighting from this iconic journey, you’ll be far richer for the experience.

Day 1 Depart Adelaide – Broken Hill

Make your way from the City of Churches via the historic Silver City of Broken Hill to the Harbour City. Boarding The Indian Pacific in Adelaide, take in the striking, ever-changing landscape of South Australia heading East towards Sydney. Over lunch, watch as pastures dissolve into tough mallee scrub on approach to Broken Hill. On arrival in ‘the Silver City’, you can visit the late Pro Hart’s art studio or head for the Miners’ Memorial to discover the stark reality of working in Broken Hill’s mines where more than 800 miners lost their lives.

Day 2 Sydney

Winding your way through the magnificent Blue Mountains provides ample opportunity to relax and reflect upon this unforgettable journey. After travelling through some of the most striking landscapes on Earth you arrive in Sydney. From a coffee cruise on one of the world’s most famous harbours to an action-packed day of sightseeing or shopping in the city, Sydney provides an entertaining and fitting end to your spectacular rail adventure.

  • The organisation and communication were first class. The flexibility in travelling to the destination was impressive and the hotels where we stayed  in were all of a good standard. Our Coach was driven by Ken, who was a character and nothing was too much for him.

  • We both enjoyed the Magnificent New Zealand holiday immensely. The Coach Driver/Tour Guide was excellent and the hotels were really comfortable. The holiday was extremely good value and I would recommend it to anyone waning to taste the Antipodean holiday experience.
