In this Chinese cooking class, you’ll get to learn how to prepare some of the cuisine’s most delicious dishes, as well as learning about China’s many regional cuisines and how to prepare dishes from the local Guangxi cuisine. Choose from either a morning or an afternoon experience, where you’ll first be collected from your hotel and taken to one of the local markets. Together with a small group, you’ll take a tour of the market, with your guide teaching you about the fresh ingredients on offer and how they come together in the local dishes. Discover stalls filled with fresh fruits, vegetables and spices, including some unique to Chinese cooking.
After an educational trip to the market, you’ll get to use some of those ingredients first-hand over in the Chinese cooking class at the cookery school. Using traditional methods passed down through the generations, an experienced local chef will teach you the proper way to cook authentic Chinese dishes eaten by the local people. Following their demonstration, you’ll prepare and cook the ingredients in a Chinese-style kitchen, with the chef on hand to offer any assistance. The dishes are simple to make and suitable for all abilities, even if you seldom cook at home.
Once you’ve prepared your dishes in a fun and interesting cookery class, it’s time to taste the fruits of your labours and sit down together with your fellow cooks over a delicious meal. The dishes cooked will change depending on the seasons and the ingredients available at the market, but can include tasty fish, delicious dumplings and flavourful fried vegetables. Savour your creations and gather around the dinner table to learn even more from your chef, guide and host about local customs, cuisine and folklore.
