Journey to a private bayou for a “swamp tour” of the Manchac Swamp, just north of New Orleans. The bayous of Louisiana contain unique flora and fauna that are indigenous to the area based on the high heat and humidity of the climate. Climb aboard a pontoon boat with your local guide to explore the lush plant life found on the bayou while looking for the most notable residents of the area: alligators! As you traverse the waterways, you will also hear about the Cajun people of the region, and how their lifestyle entwines with these bayous.
