Highlights:

  • Relaxing cruise to discover unique wildlife
  • View well preserved mangroves
  • Chance to spot rare Irrawaddy dolphins

A late afternoon journey along the Santubong River, winding from the Sarawak River to the South China Sea, offers an immersive look at the rich biodiversity of the Santubong Peninsula, known for its unique wildlife.

Just a 40-minute drive from Kuching takes us to the Sarawak Boat Club and the starting point of our unforgettable cruise. As we drift through well-preserved mangroves, we have the chance to spot wildlife that emerges as the temperature cools. Keep an eye out for Proboscis monkeys, Estuarine crocodiles, macaques, mudskippers, Monitor lizards, and Silver-leaf monkeys. And if we’re lucky, we might catch a glimpse of the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins, identified by their distinctive rounded foreheads. As dusk draws in, sit back and enjoy nature's enchanting light show as fireflies begin to glow.
