Highlights:
- Explore the historic sights of Malacca on this full day tour
- Enjoy a 40-minute sightseeing cruise around Malacca canal
- Visit the oldest bar in Malacca
Our optional full-day excursion takes us to Malacca, once a small fishing village and now a vibrant city with historic streets and diverse cultural sites that reveal influences from Portuguese, Dutch, British and Chinese settlers.
Explore fortresses, churches, temples, mosques and museums in this UNESCO World Heritage city, reflecting varied architectural styles from different periods in history. We enjoy a break to indulge in a delicious Peranakan meal, showcasing the rich traditional flavours of Malacca’s cuisine, before embarking on a 40-minute boat ride on the Malacca canal. As we cruise along, take in scenic vistas of bridges, shophouses, and at times even the occasional monitor lizard. Later, we visit the traditional Malay village of Kampung Morten to discover Villa Sentosa, a fascinating living-history museum encapsulating early 20th-century Malay life. Before returning to Kuala Lumpur, we stop at Malacca’s oldest bar, once popular with Japanese soldiers during World War II.
