We leave the city behind and travel to Chansar, a local village, and firstly enjoy an ox-cart ride around the village before hearing from a local family about the process of broom-making. There’s a chance to have a go yourself before a guided walking tour to take in the experience and culture of this rural way of life – you can try out fishing and farming as the locals do, too. Proceeds from this tour will go directly to the community to improve the lives of the residents.
We will chat to the locals over lunch before travelling back to Siem Reap. There’s a chance to stop off at a local temple en-route to the hotel and receive a colourful blessing from a Buddhist monk.
Please note: When entering temples and other sacred places it is required to cover shoulders and knees, and shoes may need to be removed.
