Highlights:

  • See the iconic landscape of Rio de Janeiro from Guanabara Bay
  • Views of the Museum of Tomorrow and Contemporary Art Museum

Guanabara Bay, surrounded by the towering peaks of Sugar Loaf Mountain and Papagaio Peak, is dotted with over 100 islands offering a dramatic natural and urban landscape of Rio de Janeiro. As Brazil's second-largest bay, it houses the cities of Niteroi and São Gonçalo, along with the Port of Rio and the city’s two airports. Experience the city from another angle by taking a catamaran across the bay and take in the vistas of its stunning granite mountains, rising from the water. Starting from Marina da Gloria, your journey heads toward the Museum of Tomorrow, an architectural icon of Porto Maravilha, Rio’s port region. Along the way, you'll pass Villegagnon Island, Santos Dumont Airport, Fiscal Island, and the Navy Arsenal. The cruise continues past the Rio-Niterói Bridge and Concha Acústica, a well-known live music venue. Designed by Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer, the Museum of Contemporary Art with its unique saucer shape, is a striking landmark on the city’s skyline. Before heading back, you'll enjoy views of the beaches Adão and Eva, as well as several historic forts. The final stop is Sugar Loaf Mountain, where you can pause for photos at the base of the famous peak and capture lasting memories.
