Highlights:

- View exhibits of well-preserved Inca artefacts, textiles and ceremonial objects
Visit the Andean Sanctuaries Museum to uncover the history of Juanita, the frozen mummy. Juanita’s preserved body was found entirely frozen in the Andes Mountains in 1995, dating back to 550 B.C. Her well-preserved remains provided a major discovery for scientists. It is believed that the young Inca girl was sacrificed in a religious ceremony when she was about 12 to 15 years old. The amazing state of her remains offers rare insights into the lives of the Incas. While specialists work on preserving her original mummy, the museum features a detailed replica, allowing you to connect with Juanita’s story and understand her importance in Inca history.
