    About the ABN Sukapha

    EXCLUSIVE CHARTER FOR DISTANT JOURNEYS

With just 12 cabins, exclusively accommodating Distant Journeys’ guests, the ABN Sukapha is home for seven wonderful nights, as part of our The Brahmaputra River & Darjeeling tour.

The impressive trans-boundary river of Brahmaputra is sourced in the Himalayas and finds its confluence in the revered and holy River Ganges. This River Island cruise takes you from Silghat to Dibrugarh/Jorhat, docking at plenty of iconic locations along the way. Guests can expect plentiful wildlife, cultural encounters with riverside communities, a fascinating glimpse into Assamese culture on Majuli Island and a visit to a tea estate in Jorhat.

Join us as we meander the waterways of the legendary Brahmaputra River on board our exclusively-chartered ABN Sukapha riverboat.

    The Journey

Along the route, take in the wonders of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kaziranga National Park, home to the largest population of Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros in the world, as well as the highest density of Bengal Tigers, not to mention its Indian elephants, bison, swamp deer and Capped langurs. Shore excursions include holy monasteries, exquisite temples, sprawling tea estates, and so much more. With all excursions included, all that is left is for you to relish every moment.

    Cabin Comforts

The 12, air-conditioned en-sutie cabins are bamboo-panelled featuring a large, sliding window that offers panoramic views of the landscape.

    Cabin Facilities

    • Climate control
    • En-suite shower with Kama Ayurveda toiletries

    Life on board

Return to the riverboat after each on-shore adventure and enjoy unrivalled service and hospitality, from a cold towel service to refresh yourself once back on board to sipping a chilled welcome drink on deck.

When not relishing the comforts of your private cabin, head to the riverboat’s top floor where an airy, sun-drenched deck awaits you with loungers, armchairs, and more. Take in the sweeping vistas of rolling jungle-covered hills, verdant forests, and the sun’s rays dancing across the water’s surface. Select some light reading from the extensive library, or admire art and handlooms, all locally handcrafted by expert artisans hailing from Assam.

Staff provide local insights into Indian culture with song and dance performances and if your curiosity is piqued, an English-speaking guide is on board, ready to answer your every question as you watch local life on the shore pass you by.

    Delectable Dining

The ABN Sukapha ensures a superb culinary experience in the dedicated dining room with expertly trained chefs crafting a delectable buffet of local Indian cuisines and traditional Western dishes. Treat yourself to an expansive choice of wines, spirits, and beers, sourced from around the globe, or enjoy the complimentary tea, coffee, and mineral water onboard.
