Following her Deccan Odyssey tour with us, journalist Rashmi Narayan shared one of her highlights: “That first glimpse of the Taj Mahal, without question. I’d seen it as a teenager, but returning and experiencing it through a curated, guided lens made it even more special. I’ll also treasure the lake palaces of Udaipur, the Ellora caves, and warm conversations with locals in Jaipur.” Rashmi Narayan

An amazing trip with loads of interesting trips to see various stunning historic buildings and experience some of the National culture. The itinerary was full on from the start, which after a long flight was quite tiring. I wonder if it might have been better done in reverse as the last stop on the itinerary gave us some free time. The highlights were the Taj, Jaipur and the hotel in Ranthambore, although we weren’t lucky enough to see tigers! Unfortunately lots of groups on other days did, which made it worse!! Our guide, Kam was fabulous, and looked after us superbly. As was our driver, heaven knows how he managed to drive a big buss in the mayhem that the Indian roads are especially in the cities, and the bus assistant was very attentive. Only thing I didn’t feel was great was the stop at a jewellery shop, which was very pressurised and not pleasant. Otherwise an excellent organised trip with lovely hotels.

Golden Triangle and Ranthambore
the trip was excellent. However, several of us did feel that visits to carpet/jewellery/marble factories were rather a waste of time and we would have preferred to visit places where local women [or men] sold their produce
