Opened in the summer of 1993, the then named Grizzly Discovery Center began giving visitors to Yellowstone a greater understanding and appreciation of grizzlies. They were given approval by the US Fish & Wildlife Service to save grizzly bears from the lower 48 because of their non-profit status. The bears and wolves living at the facility cannot be released back into the wild, so they help educate and delight visitors from around the world. You will also have the chance to see otters and birds of prey.
