Pinnacles Desert Sunset Tour & Star Gazing

    Perth

    Overview

    Pre-booking required

    Highlights:

    • The Pinnacles
    • Yanchep National Park
    • Fishing town of Cervantes

The Pinnacles are one of the most iconic sights in Western Australia: a series of unique limestone rock formations sticking up out of a vast, remote desert. Pay a visit to this mystical feat of nature with a full-day Pinnacles Desert tour, which also takes in the Yanchep National Park, the western coast and the starry night sky.

Setting off from Perth, the Pinnacles day tour travels north out of the city for our first stop in the Yanchep National Park. Renowned for its wildlife, Yanchep National Park is home to bushland and wetland landscapes. It’s here you’ll have an opportunity to see the resident koalas and kangaroos.

Travelling further up the coast, we take in views of the stunning Western Australian coastline on our way to the Pinnacle Desert, arriving late in the afternoon. Visiting at this time of day means you get to avoid the warmest part of the day, which can be stifling in the Australian desert, as well as the crowds, so you can fully appreciate the magnificent rock formations and capture some brilliant photos. The Pinnacle Desert’s moon-like landscape changes as we watch the breath-taking sunset, as well as the moon rising over the Indian Ocean.

Once darkness falls, we travel back out to the coast, to the fishing town of Cervantes, where we’ll visit a traditional Western Australian tavern for our evening meal. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy dinner in an authentic “Aussie pub”. It’s then time to head back into the Pinnacle Desert for our mesmerising conclusion to the Pinnacles tour: stargazing underneath the clear night skies. Free of light pollution, dazzling stars and constellations can easily be seen from the observation deck, and you’ll also get to experience the peace and tranquillity of the Pinnacles Desert by night. After an awe-inspiring session of gazing up into the endless galaxies above, the Pinnacles tour will transport us back to Perth, arriving back in the city late in the evening.
