Discover the richly layered history of Malacca on this tour through the city - from a modest fishing village to a vibrant UNESCO World Heritage city shaped by centuries of Portuguese, Dutch, British, and Chinese influence. Its past unfolds along its winding streets and riverbanks, where every facade hints at a different era.
We begin among the fortresses, churches, temples, mosques, and museums that trace Malacca’s changing architecture, each reflecting the succession of cultures that helped forge the city’s unique identity. Enjoy a delicious Peranakan meal, a wonderful introduction to the traditional flavours that define Malacca’s cuisine, before setting off on a relaxing 40-minute boat ride along the Malacca canal. As we glide past the water’s edge, admire the scenic views of bridges and colourful shophouses. We continue to the traditional Malay village of Kampung Morten to visit Villa Sentosa, a captivating living history museum offering a glimpse into Malay life in the early 1900s. Before returning to Kuala Lumpur, we make a final stop at Malacca’s oldest bar, a characterful establishment once frequented by Japanese soldiers during the WWII.
