Highlights:
- Explore the diverse art forms showcasing Borneo’s tribal artistry
- Learn the art of Batik painting
- Create your own handkerchief with guidance from a local artist
This half-day immersive experience offers a window into the vibrant artistic traditions that lie at the heart of Borneo’s tribal culture. Our journey begins at the Sabah Art Gallery, where a striking collection of paintings, sculptures and photographs come together to reveal the many facets of indigenous life.
Now it’s our turn to get creative with a hands-on lesson guided by a skilled local artist on the traditional technique of batik - one of Malaysia’s most cherished art forms. With gentle application, wax and dye transform plain fabric into intricate patterns, as you design and paint your own batik handkerchief to take home.
