Batu Caves

Kuala Lumpur

Overview

Highlights:

  • Leisurely stroll in a community park overlooking Kuala Lumpur’s stunning skyline
  • Explore the colourful temples of Batu Caves
  • Visit the hundred-year-old pewter factory

Leaving the bustle of the city behind, we begin our journey at Titiwangsa Lake Park - a tranquil green expanse that offers some of the most striking views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline and a leafy canopy walk tucked quietly among the trees.

From here, we continue to one of Malaysia’s most iconic landmarks, the Batu Caves. The colossal Murugan Golden Statue greets us proudly at the entrance as we begin our climb up the famous rainbow-coloured staircase. Once at the top we can explore the atmospheric temple where the limestone walls soar above shrines and altars and have the chance to uncover further hidden treasures such as the Ramayana Cave. Our experience finishes with a visit to the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, the heart of Malaysia’s renowned pewter tradition. Here, we uncover the craftsmanship behind this celebrated art form, witnessing the skill and precision that have earned Royal Selangor its world-class reputation before we return to the city.
