South Africa
Welcome to Cape Town, a city that effortlessly weaves together natural beauty, rich history and a vibrant culture. With the awe-inspiring Table Mountain as its backdrop, the city has so much to offer, from the colourful streets of the Bo-Kaap, where the heritage of Cape Malay culture shines brightly to the sumptuous cuisine on offer at the beautiful V&A Waterfront.
This holiday extension is available to add to either the beginning or the end of your tour (depending on the tour selected).
Day 1: Cape Town, 3 nights
On arrival into Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to either the Camps Bay Retreat or the Azamare Camps Bay, both offering picturesque views across the Indian Ocean and the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range. The rest of the day is spent at leisure for you to settle into your hotel or explore the wider area.

Day 2: Cape Town Freedom Day
Cape Town is a city calling out to be explored, so why not start the day admiring the vistas from atop Table Mountain. There is also the chance to head out to the south-western tip of South Africa, Cape Point; discover the delightful Cape Winelands or just enjoy the delights of Camps Bay.

Day 3: Cape Town Freedom Day
This is it, your last day in Cape Town to explore at your own pace. With such a rich history, Cape Town still has visible scars from its apartheid days. We suggest a day trip to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in prison. A designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, you can take a walk through the old prison as well as a bus ride around the island with a fascinating commentary on places of note.

Included meals:
Breakfast
Your accommodation:
Camps Bay Retreat
Day 4: Depart Cape Town
Today, we say farewell to Cape Town as we travel to the airport to begin our journey home to the UK. Alternatively if staying in Cape Town pre-tour, you will join your fellow travelling companions and Tour Manager, ready for your adventures ahead.
