Rotorua – Agrodome & Rainbow Springs

Agrodome – A Unique Farm Experience

A 160-hectare working sheep and cattle farm with 1200 sheep and 120 beef cattle, the world-renowned Agrodome in Rotorua is a wonderful experience for anyone interested in farming and agriculture. Enjoy getting up close to a range of animals such as sheep, goats, cattle, deer, alpacas and ostriches during a hands-on, live farming experience. And the legendary sheep show is great fun with sheep shearing and lamb feeding. During your visit you will have chance to explore the farm and learn the history of New Zealand agriculture on an eco-farm tour.

Rainbow Springs

Set in 22 acres of beautiful native trees and streams, Rainbow Springs is home to a huge variety of New Zealand’s most precious inhabitants. Rainbow Springs plays an important role in conserving many of the precious native species of New Zealand, and a key part of that process is making it as much fun as possible to interact with the animals. So take a stroll through one of the many free flight aviaries and take advantage of the chance to feed the biggest wild trout you will ever see.

Kiwi Encounter

Your visit to Rainbow Springs includes a 30 minute behind the scenes guided Kiwi Encounter. Since 1995 Rainbow Springs has successfully hatched, raised and released 1350 kiwi chicks back into the wild. During the tour you will see each of the stages a kiwi chick goes through before being released in to the wild.
